Registration for the 2010 Dam to Dam has ended. There is no registration at packet pickup on June 4 or 5.
No refunds on entry fees or transferring of race numbers. Runners not wearing the correct race number will be disqualified and asked to not enter Dam to Dam in the future.
Friday, June 4 at the Polk Country Convention Complex, 501 Grand Avenue from 2-8 p.m.
A limited and late 5k only packet pickup is available Saturday, June 5, 8-9 a.m. at northeast corner of the Civic Center, 1 block east of the finish line.
No Early Starts and Course Open for 1 Hour. 5 kilometer starts at 9:45 a.m. at the corner of Third and Walnut streets, one block south of the finish area and adjacent to Nollen Plaza.
There are 40 portable bathrooms west of the start area, near Capital Square building on Walnut.
All runners will be provided a chip which must be affixed to your shoe and returned after you finish. You will be timed according to your chip or net time, open and age division awards will be determined by gun time.
Failure to wear or return your chip will result in disqualification. There is a $10 charge for chips not returned.
5 kilometer race is a USA Track & Field certified distance. The 3.1 mile course is flat and fast winding through the east side of the downtown area. Shortly after the first mile, the course turns right onto East River Drive merging with the 20 kilometer (they are going south). The 5 kilometer course turns around just before the bike path near University Avenue and heads back south, then goes west on Locust Street to the finish. The course is traffic-controlled and will be timed for a one-hour finish.
No early starts, no bikes, no baby joggers, no dogs and no roller blades are permitted. Headphones or electronic listening devices are permitted but discouraged for the safety of yourself and other runners.

5 kilometer finishes at Third and Locust streets, adjacent to Nollen Plaza in downtown Des Moines. Refreshments are available on the east end of Nollen Plaza. Finishers must show their race number and be prepared to show a photo ID to receive alcohol. >> View Map of Finish Area
5 Kilometer awards will be presented at 10:45 a.m. on Nollen Plaza. The first three overall men and women will be announced to the crowd, please be present to receive your award and for pictures to be placed in the results booklet.
Age division winners can receive their awards west of the announcer area in the age division awards tent.
In the event of bad weather, the awards will be held inside Capital Square, west of Nollen Plaza. Results will be posted near the finish line on the east side of the Capital Square building, full results will be available by 7 p.m., Saturday, at www.damtodam.com, and the official results booklet will be mailed to all entrants.
5 Kilometer special awards are presented to the top three male and female winners, who are eligible for age group awards. 5 Kilometer age group awards are presented to the top three male and female winners in 13 age divisions.
Photos from Jolesch Photography will be e-mailed to you one week after the race.
